Finally snapped the lovely Lyra in a #28daysofyin pose, today it's Bananasana! A yummy stretch for the side of the body, side bending the spine and stretching the IT band, QL, obliques, intercostals, armpit, it can get in everywhere! Lie on your back, legs together, arms straight overhead. You can clasp your elbows if you prefer. Keep your butt on the floor, move your feet and rib cage/shoulders to the right, try to make your body into the shape of a banana. Try not to lift your hips, keep them planted to the floor. You can move your feet & torso further to the right as the pose progresses and the side body opens. You can try crossing the ankles (try outer ankles over inner, observe, then swap, to see what feels best for you) for a deeper stretch.
